“Green” Friendly Car Tips of 2013

If you’re like us, then you do your part to help the environment. You’re constantly separating your recycling to save precious plastic materials, picking up little pieces of discarded trash everywhere you go, and watching documentaries on the animals that add character to our small planet.  At our dealership, we’re constantly on the search for new and innovative ways to help the environment.  Today, we’re providing you with some avenues to save when it comes to your vehicle:

  1. 1. Maintain the health of your engine by abiding by service appointments and regular upkeep.  Keeping your vehicle at peak performance by visiting the dealership is crucial to keeping your car in “green” territory.
  2. 2. Check the air pressure of your tires to maintain fuel preservation.  You can save MPG and avoid more emissions by keeping your tires inflated properly.
  3. 3. Don’t use “jack rabbit” acceleration techniques! Speeding off at a red light can greatly increase your gas consumption
  4. 4. Correctly dispose of engine fluids and batteries.  Give your government waste management agency a call to find out how to dispose of these hazardous chemicals.  Never pour them out onto the ground or any way that could drip into lakes or streams.

  1. The guys at Kingshurst Automotive were giving me a little lesson on this when I had my car serviced there recently. Did you know that resting your hand on the gear stick can put pressure on the clutch mechanism and make the shifts less efficient? Definitely been doing that for ten years...
